National Parks

National Parks Partnership

As proud partners, Olympus and the National Park Service (NPS) encourage you to experience our nation's parks and federal recreation lands. Take only pictures and leave the parks' majestic beauty untouched for future generations to enjoy. Use these tips from Olympus to capture and share photos you'll cherish! See Our Tips Page.

Air Web Cameras

Olympus supports the NPS's "Air Web Camera" initiative through product and financial donations. Developed to help educate the public on air quality issues, the Web Cam initiative tracks and analyzes air quality at 16 national park locations. Images are captured every 15 minutes throughout each and every day at natural parks like the Grand Canyon and Yosemite, and monuments such as the Washington and Lincoln Memorials in Washington D.C., to name a few. Share the Experience Photo Contest

Olympus is also proud to be the title sponsor of the National Park Foundation's 2009 "Share the Experience" photo contest and "Your Parks" video challenge. The contests encourage people to capture and share the parks through still images and videos. Both contests also celebrate the documentary by Ken Burns entitled, "National Parks: America's Best Idea." The six-part series on PBS tells the captivating history of our majestic national parks.

Prizes include trips to a national park of the winners' choice and Olympus cameras! For this year only, one special prize is being awarded – the Ken Burns "National Parks: America's Best Idea" DVD and book – for the Share the Experience contest. For the first time, the "Your Parks" contest asks, "What do America's National Parks mean to you?" Click here to learn more!
