Olympus' Pathfinder Binocular Helps Bring the Great Outdoors Closer

Melville, NY - Olympus America, a world leader in optics and cameras for 80 years, continues to expand its innovative line of binoculars with the introduction of the new EXPS I Pathfinder. The Pathfinder series offers BaK-4 porro prisms for the highest in optical performance with a new and improved sleek ergonomic design and long-eye-relief (18mm) with twist up-down eyecups, making them ideal and comfortable for long hours of bird and nature watching. The new Pathfinder binocular continues the Olympus commitment of providing consumers a full line of binoculars designed for individual needs and budgets. With the introduction of this newest Pathfinder in the series, all Olympus binoculars have been updated or newly introduced in the last two years, showing Olympus' commitment to the binocular category.

The world-class optical technology and high-index prisms ensure bright, crisp, edge-to-edge images with multicoated lenses for maximum image brightness, contrast, quality and reflection control all packaged in a sleek contoured design. Thus, details render sharp and clear from the sites of a vast forest scene to a baby bird in its nest.

These standard size porro-prism binoculars are smaller than the competitors while still packing the same powerful specifications making them ideal for travel and all-around outdoor use including hiking, bird watching,and spectator sports. Customized adjustments are fast and easy with a built-in dioptric correction to adjust to an individual's eyesight and a large control knob (conveniently located in the center panel) for easy focusing.

The new Pathfinder series consists of three different magnification choices - 8 x 42, 10 x 42 and 12 x 50 - ranging in suggested retail price from $249 to $289 respectively and will be available in March of 2001 at national outdoor and specialty camera stores.
