Olympus OnSite™ Mobile Showroom Latest Component in Comprehensive Strategy to Build Awareness of Olympus Brand in U.S.
Melville, NY, October 3, 2004 - Olympus, a precision technology leader in designing and delivering innovative solutions in healthcare and consumer electronics worldwide, today unveiled Olympus OnSite, a state-of-the-art mobile showroom. Olympus OnSite brings an array of the company's healthcare and consumer electronics products to customers nationwide to further build relationships and to elevate brand awareness among key customers and the general public. The Olympus OnSite mobile showroom tour, which is expected to make dozens of stops during its first year at customer sites, trade shows, conferences and other third-party events including Olympus sponsorship venues, will be officially launched today at the IDN Summit & Expo, a healthcare conference held in Phoenix, Arizona.

In addition to Olympus' OnSite, Olympus's brand-building strategy includes the exclusive corporate sponsorship of a PBS series on American business innovation, They Made America. The series premiers in November 2004 and is based on a new book by renowned author and editor Sir Harold Evans on the history of innovation in America. In conjunction with the series, Olympus also produced its first U.S. corporate image television commercial, illustrating the breadth of its innovative optical-digital medical and consumer electronics products.
Olympus OnSite is a custom-built 53-ft. double slide-out trailer that transforms into a 105 ft. by 45 ft. showroom. Two-thirds of the interior is designed to mirror a hospital environment featuring the company's state-of-the-art medical and diagnostic systems and scientific equipment, while the remainder is devoted to consumer products.
