EndoALPHATM Centralized O.R. Control System
Fact Sheet: October 2004

EndoALPHATM provides instantaneous and centralized control for OR equipment from a single touch screen, while serving a multitude of surgical specialties. The system’s control and visual displays can be customized to reflect the equipment being used and the specialty of the surgeon without cluttering the screen. This allows surgeons and assistants to focus on the job at hand, while increasing operational efficiency.

Delivering maximum control and customization capabilities, EndoALPHA’s unique features include one touch set-up, touch control from both sterile and non-sterile locations, and booms and/or cart configurations. EndoALPHA is also fully upgradeable to protect against obsolescence and offers a range of choices and price points.

EndoALPHA Voice Navigation – featuring advanced plug and play technology
EndoALPHA’s optional voice navigation feature requires no voice card, so there’s no wasted downtime training it. The user can go directly to the desired commands without a set command sequence. Prompts on the universal display guide the user through the command index, making voice control an effortless experience from both inside and outside the sterile field. The surgeon can control endoscopic surgical devices directly via a remote touch panel. This facilitates more complex, minimally invasive surgical procedures, which translates into lower treatment costs for managed care providers.

“With EndoALPHA, I’m able to focus on the procedure without having to deflect my gaze to look at the status of the ancillary equipment,” stated Gary Gecelter, MD, FACS, Chief, Division of General Surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. “The camera unit, table mounted remote control and voice navigation system really allow for a seamless interaction between the nursing staff, my assistant and myself. It really does go a long way to create a stress-free operating room environment.”

Customize for quick setups and a clutter-free screen
The EndoALPHA system includes up to 100 electronic preference cards, allowing a facility to preset each physician’s specifications for quick and efficient setup prior to every procedure, decreasing turnaround.

Exclusive automatic smoke and mist evacuation feature
Utilizing Olympus’ technologies in insufflation, electrocautery, and ultrasonic cutting and coagulation, EndoALPHA is the only system on the market that provides automatic smoke and mist evacuation along with simultaneous reinsufflation during electrocautery and ultrasonic cutting and coagulation. By maintaining abdominal pressure and image clarity, the system provides seamless efficiency and improved visualization of the surgical site. The system is also designed for a quick and easy exchange to a secondary CO2 canister, to save a facility time and frustration.
