Olympus America President Selected By Aspatore Books As Author In New Authoritative Book

Boston, MA, November 1, 2006 - F. Mark Gumz, President and Chief Operating Officer of Olympus America Inc., has been recognized as a leader in business management by being selected as an author in the recently released book, Managing the Executive Team: Top CEOs on Working with Board Members, Leading Team Meetings, and Implementing a Companywide Vision, published by Aspatore Books.  Managing the Executive Team: Top CEOs on Working with Board Members, Leading Team Meetings, and Implementing a Companywide Vision (1596225866) provides readers with proven business intelligence from C-Level executives (Chairman, CEO, CFO, CMO, Partner) from the world’s most respected companies nationwide, rather than third-party accounts from unknown authors and analysts. Each chapter is comparable to an essay/thought leadership piece and is a future-oriented look at where an industry, profession or topic is headed and the most important issues for the future. Through an exhaustive selection process, each author was hand-picked by the Inside the Minds editorial board to author a chapter for this book.

The title of Gumz’ chapter is “Challenging Status Quo in Management.”  For this, he drew on his extensive experience as the president of Olympus America, a role he assumed in January 2000, as well as his prior experience as an independent businessman and consultant for more than 15 years, during which time he developed extensive experience in e-business, international trade, and new business development.

In the chapter, Gumz addresses such topics as his management style and vision, unique management issues, leadership, brand equity, and how he conducts team meetings and works with boards of directors.   To illustrate key points, Gumz provides numerous business examples, including the company’s recent relocation of its corporate headquarters from suburban New York City to the Lehigh Valley in Eastern Pennsylvania, a move intended to position the company for future growth for the next 25 years and beyond.

The Inside the Minds series is revolutionizing the business book market by publishing an unparalleled group of executives and providing an unprecedented introspective look into the leading minds of the business and legal world.
