Olympus Previews Ready-to-Use PK System Blood Grouping and Phenotyping Reagents for the PKŪ7200

Anaheim, CA October 20, 2007- Olympus is previewing new ready-to-use PK Blood Grouping and Phenotyping Reagents for the Olympus PKŪ7200 Automated Microplate System at this week's AABB Annual Meeting & TXPO 2007. The new reagents, which are presently under review by the FDA, will be manufactured by DIAGAST (France) and are expected to replace the current ready-to-use PK blood grouping reagents sold by Olympus America Inc. in the United States. For added convenience, the antisera and reagent A1 and B red blood cells will be provided ready-to-use. No handling or manipulation of the reagents will be required other than transferring them to the appropriate locations in the PK7200 reagent container.

At the current time the PK System Blood Grouping and Phenotyping Reagents are being previewed and are for research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedures. Market launch is anticipated during the fourth quarter of 2007.
