Ms. Yu will review findings of a recent study showing that use of ENDOCUFF® in screening colonoscopies is expected to reduce interval colorectal cancer (CRC) incidence and death, improve quality-of-life, and be cost-effective to healthcare providers.

CENTER VALLEY, Pa., (March 5, 2020) – Olympus, a global leader in medical and surgical technology solutions, announced that on March 11 at 6:00 pm EST, it will host a live webinar, “Defining the Value of Endocuff-Assisted Colonoscopy for Adenoma Detection.,” presented by Tiffany Yu, Managing Consultant for Commercial Health Life Sciences.

The webinar will review findings of a recent study showing that use of ENDOCUFF® in screening colonoscopies is expected to reduce interval colorectal cancer incidence and death and improve patient quality-of-life. The study also demonstrates ENDOCUFF®’s incremental cost-effectiveness in colorectal cancer screening and prevention.

Higher screening colonoscopy adenoma detection rates correlate with reduced risk of interval colorectal cancer. ENDOCUFF® has been shown to improve colonic mucosa inspection and increase adenoma detection rates in comparison to standard colonoscopy performed without a distal tip image image-improving accessory. This cost-effectiveness analysis compared interval colorectal cancer screening using ENDOCUFF®-assisted colonoscopy vs. standard colonoscopy. The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 50,000 people will die from colorectal cancer in the U.S. in 2020, making it the second leading cancer killer among men and women combined.i

ENDOCUFF® is an FDA 510(k)-cleared, second generation, single-use device designed to give an optimal view of the entire colon throughout a colonoscopy procedure. Placed on the distal tip of a colonoscope, its unique hinged arms fall flat against the shaft of the scope to reduce slippage during forward advancement. During withdrawal, the arms flare out and stabilize the tip, gently stretching the mucosal surface to allow the physician thorough inspection of the anatomy during the search for polyps.
